Kuwait City: Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Affairs Minister Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila has taken a decisive step to accelerate the nationalization of jobs within cooperative societies by issuing Ministerial Decision No. (25) of 2025. The decision establishes a committee led by the Ministry's Undersecretary to oversee the execution of the nationalization plan targeted at cooperative societies and unions.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the committee's responsibilities include coordinating with the Public Authority for Manpower and the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies. In a statement released on Sunday, Al-Huwaila outlined the committee's role in facilitating the recruitment of national labor for supervisory and general roles within these organizations. The committee is also tasked with addressing any obstacles that may arise during the implementation of the plan, which may involve proposing necessary legal changes to the employment mechanisms and conditions for Kuwaiti citizens.
Al-Huwaila highlighted that this initiative is part of the government's broader effort to create additional job opportunities for Kuwaitis outside the governmental sector. The aim is to attract national talents to improve the work environment in cooperative societies. The nationalization plan is designed to enhance the economic and social standards of shareholders, safeguard their investments from misuse, and ensure efficient management of resources in cooperative societies.
