Ljubljana: Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon has expressed concern over growing reports of ceasefire violations in Gaza, emphasizing the need to support the Palestinian Authority as a fundamental step towards achieving a just and lasting peace through a two-state solution.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Fajon highlighted various issues such as violence and extrajudicial executions in Gaza since the ceasefire, arms smuggling, delays in opening crossings, and escalations following attacks near Rafah. She stated that these acts endanger civilians, undermine the truce, and violate international law. Fajon shared these concerns on her X account, urging adherence to international agreements.
Fajon also referenced the New York Declaration and Peace Plan, advocating for the opening of Gaza crossings, particularly the Rafah crossing, to allow for the movement of patients and aid. She reiterated Slovenia’s commitment to collaborating with the EU and regional partners to protect civilians, ensure full humanitarian access, and support a peace process based on the two-state solution.
The Slovenian foreign minister stressed the importance of strengthening the Palestinian Authority during this critical period, aligning Slovenia with efforts to maintain stability and peace in the region.
