Amman: In the presence of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Officer Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad participated in the inauguration of Princess Basma Hospital in Jordan. The SFD has contributed to the financing of the project with $98 million. According to Saudi Press Agency, the opening ceremony was also attended by Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan. The Princess Basma Hospital project aims to strengthen the healthcare system by establishing a facility spanning over 88,000 square meters. It has a capacity of 566 medical beds across nine floors, offering a range of medical and consulting specialties to provide comprehensive care. The project also includes more than 900 parking spaces for doctors, staff, visitors, and patients, enhancing the efficiency of healthcare infrastructure and facilitating access to specialized medical services. Since 1978, the SFD has supported 20 development projects and programs in Jordan across the energy, transport, water, education, health, and infrastructure sectors through concessional development loans totaling over $545 million. In addition, the SFD has financed development projects through grants from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia totaling more than $1.511 billion, supporting sustainable development and enhancing Jordan's economic and social impact.
