Kuwait city: Pakistan's security forces have successfully neutralized 20 militants in two separate operations within the northern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, which borders Afghanistan, as announced by the military on Monday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was initiated by the security forces in the general area of Shawal in North Waziristan tribal district in KPK, following reports of militant presence.
During this operation, Pakistani troops engaged the militants' location with precision, resulting in the elimination of eight militants, as stated in the release.
A separate intelligence-based operation took place in Dara Adam Khel district of KPK. After a fierce exchange of gunfire, 12 additional militants were successfully neutralized, the statement added.
Sanitization operations are currently underway to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining militant threats.
