Security Operations Result in Deaths of 31 Militants in Northern Pakistan

Lakki marwat: At least 31 militants belonging to "Indian Proxy" were killed in two separate engagements by security forces in Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, Pakistan's military said Monday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a press release by Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that, upon reports of militant presence, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by security forces in Lakki Marwat district of KPK.

During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the militants' location, resulting in an intense exchange of fire that led to the death of 14 "Indian sponsored" militants.

The military further reported that another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Bannu district of KPK. In the ensuing exchange of fire, security forces neutralized 17 additional militants.

Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are committed to eradicating the threat of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country, the ISPR release concluded.

This operation follows a recent incident last Saturday, where at least 35 militants were killed and 12 soldiers of the Pakistan army were martyred in two separate operations in KPK. The operation occurs amidst a rise in terror attacks, particularly in the KPK and Balochistan provinces, which border Afghanistan.
