Balochistan: At least 41 militants were killed in two separate operations by security forces in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, according to a statement by the military on Friday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the military's media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), released a press statement revealing that an intelligence-based operation was conducted on the outskirts of Harnai District in Balochistan. The operation targeted a reported terrorist hideout, where Pakistani troops effectively engaged the militants. An intense exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the death of 30 militants.
The statement further detailed that a large cache of ammunition and explosives was recovered from the militants and subsequently destroyed on site. In a separate intelligence-based operation in Panjgur District, security forces discovered another militant hideout, where 11 militants were neutralized.
These operations occur amidst a growing number of terror attacks in Pakistan, with heightened activity in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, both of which border Afghanistan.
