Security Operations Result in Death of 14 Militants in Balochistan

Quetta: At least 14 militants were killed in separate security operations by the counter-terrorism department in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, officials reported on Wednesday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) announced that 14 suspected militants were killed in separate security operations in the Quetta and Barkhan districts. In the Darakhshan area of Quetta, the provincial capital, eight armed men were killed during a security operation. This operation resulted in injuries to three CTD personnel, and weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants, who were identified as belonging to a banned outfit.

In another operation, the CTD reported that six terrorists were killed in a fire exchange during an intelligence-based operation in the Barkhan district. The CTD confirmed that all security personnel remained unharmed in this operation, and arms and ammunition were seized from the militants. The CTD stated that these terrorists were involved in planning disruptive actions and reiterated its commitment to eradicating terrorism.

President of Pakistan Asif Zardari commended the CTD Balochistan for conducting these successful operations, highlighting their significant role in protecting the nation from terrorism.
