Peshawar: At least seven militants and six soldiers of the Pakistan army were killed in a security operation in a tribal district of Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, the military reported on Wednesday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), which is the Pakistan military's media wing, released a statement confirming the deaths of the seven militants, as well as the loss of six soldiers during the operation.
Earlier in the week, security forces reported that 25 militants attempting to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border were killed, while five soldiers died in two separate security operations in the Kurram and North Waziristan tribal districts of KPK. These operations are taking place amid an increase in terror attacks in Pakistan, particularly in the KPK and Balochistan provinces that share a border with Afghanistan.
