Security Operation in Balochistan Results in Fatalities

Kuwait city: At least three "terrorists" and a Pakistani soldier were killed in a security operation in the southwestern province of Balochistan.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Awaran District of Balochistan against terrorists belonging to "Indian Proxy," as reported by Pakistan military's media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the operation and intense fire exchange, three Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed. A Pakistani army officer, who was leading his troops, was also killed in action, ISPR confirmed.

"Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve," the statement added.

Earlier in the day, at least three people were killed and seven others injured as a passenger bus was attacked by militants in Kalat district of Balochistan. The operation comes amid a surge in terror attacks in Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan.
