Peshawar: At least 17 militants were killed during a security operation in Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, said the military on Monday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a deliberate sanitization operation was conducted in surrounding areas of Hassan Khel along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The number of militants killed in the three-day anti-infiltration operation has risen to 71, ISPR reported.
Earlier on Sunday, security forces thwarted an attempt by militants to infiltrate through the Pak-Afghan border, resulting in the deaths of 54 militants.
