Peshawar: At least 30 militants were killed in a series of operations conducted by security forces in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan. These operations targeted those responsible for the recent killings of Pakistan army soldiers, including two officers, in Orakzai district.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Pakistan military released a statement detailing the operations conducted as retribution for the attack on soldiers. The operations took place in the Jamal Maya area of Orakzai District, where security forces engaged in intense exchanges of fire, resulting in the deaths of 30 militants involved in the incident.
The military's statement emphasized that these operations have successfully avenged the attack and brought the main perpetrators to justice. Earlier reports had confirmed the death of 11 soldiers, including two officers, in the same district, alongside the elimination of 19 militants in a separate security operation.
These operations are occurring amid an increase in terrorist activities in Pakistan, particularly in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, both of which share a border with Afghanistan.
