Kuwait City: Pakistani security forces killed nine militants during a series of operations in the northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, said the military on Sunday. According to Kuwait News Agency, a press release by Pakistan military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that "nine Indian Sponsored terrorists" were killed in three separate engagements in KPK. An intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in Dera Ismail Khan district based on reported presence of militants. The press release confirmed that military troops effectively engaged the militants' location. After an intense exchange of fire, four militants were killed. Another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Tank district, where two more militants were killed by the security forces during a fire exchange. In a third encounter that took place in the general area Bagh of Khyber tribal district, troops successfully neutralized three additional militants. ISPR rep orted that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who had been actively involved in numerous militant activities in these areas. Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any remaining militants, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eradicate "Indian Sponsored Terrorism" from the country. Earlier in the previous week, at least 12 militants and two soldiers were killed in two separate operations by security forces in KPK and Balochistan provinces. These operations occur amidst a rise in terror attacks, particularly in KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan.
