SDAIA Issues General Rules for Secondary Use of Data Document

Riyadh: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has issued the General Rules for the Secondary Use of Data document as part of efforts to regulate data sharing and enhance data utilization at the national level.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the rules aim to establish the controls and procedures governing requests for data sharing for purposes of serving the public interest or advancing research, development, and innovation.

The rules also seek to encourage government entities to share data in support of research, development, and innovation, and to serve the public interest by improving the efficiency of government operations and activities, using data to support decision-making, and enabling the implementation of national strategies and targets by facilitating entities' access to data for secondary use.
