Riyadh: Saudi Arabia and Syria on Monday signed an agreement that promotes and protects investments between both countries on the sidelines of a forum held in Riyadh. According to Kuwait News Agency, the agreement was signed by Saudi Minister of Investment Khaled Al-Faleh and Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Mohammad Al-Shaar, alongside representatives from the private sector. The agreement covers 47 investment projects across key sectors, with total investments exceeding SAR 24 billion. These projects span real estate, infrastructure, finance, telecommunications and information technology, energy, industry, tourism, trade and investment, health, and other fields. Al-Faleh emphasized that the agreement embodies the Kingdom's vision towards building economic cooperation with brotherly nations, which strengthens the country's role in providing worldwide investment opportunities and enhancing its global investment role. The Syrian Minister greatly valued the Kingdom's role in promoting regional ec onomic cooperation, pointing to the agreement as a step towards deepening investments between both nations.
