Riyadh: The second edition of the Saudi International Railway Forum and Exhibition commenced in Riyadh with Kuwait's Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan participating in the event.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of Saudi Railways (SAR) Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser emphasized in his opening remarks that the event aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030. He highlighted the significant progress made in the transport sector, which aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub through an integrated network of land, sea, air, and rail.
Al-Jasser pointed out that rail transport has become a crucial component supporting national development and the economy by facilitating trade and mining, expanding sustainable transport options, improving quality of life, enhancing road safety, and preserving infrastructure.
The opening day featured the signing of multiple agreements and cooperation memoranda between local and international entities. These agreements focus on manufacturing, maintenance, infrastructure development, and artificial intelligence applications to boost operational efficiency, localize technologies, and develop national talent.
The exhibition accompanying the forum showcases over 248 exhibitors from across the globe, presenting the latest technological innovations and solutions in the rail sector. It also includes platforms for investors and entrepreneurs, highlighting SAR's leading role in transforming this essential industry.
