Riyadh: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has identified the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine as a pivotal moment for advancing the two-state solution and ending the Israeli occupation. Prince Faisal emphasized that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is essential for achieving security, stability, and prosperity in the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Prince Faisal highlighted the urgent need to address the humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing conflict and violations against Palestinians. He urged for an immediate cessation of hostilities and stressed that the key to regional peace lies in recognizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot echoed these sentiments, noting that the broad participation in the conference indicates a global consensus on the importance of ending the conflict in Gaza. Barrot called for the international community to seize this moment as a turning point to implement the two-state solution, warning that the ongoing violence endangers the security and stability of the entire region.
Barrot criticized the actions of Israeli occupying forces, particularly their targeting of Palestinian civilians, women, and children at humanitarian assistance centers. He urged the international community to take decisive action to halt the violence.
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa expressed that the conference serves as a message of support for the Palestinian people's rights to life, freedom, dignity, and a sovereign state. He stated that the event represents a commitment to ending the historical oppression faced by Palestinians.
