Saudi Data and AI Authority Launches Large-Scale Data Center in Riyadh

Riyadh: The Saudi Data and AI Authority has unveiled a new data center in Riyadh, boasting a capacity of 480 megawatts and covering an expansive area of 30 million square feet. This development marks a significant advancement in the region's data and artificial intelligence infrastructure. According to Kuwait News Agency, the move is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to enhance its technological landscape and infrastructure capabilities. The new data center is expected to play a crucial role in supporting various sectors by providing advanced data processing and storage solutions. This initiative coincides with other significant global events, including the inauguration of Kuwait Geopark by Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdurrahman Al-Mutairi. Meanwhile, international incidents such as the tragic fire at a tourist ski resort in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, and the security operations in southeastern Somalia have captured worldwide attention. The geopolitica l landscape is further shifting with Bulgaria joining the Eurozone, becoming its 21st member. In the context of regional security, Israeli forces have reportedly shot dead two Palestinians in separate incidents in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, Somali regular troops, with support from international partners, have conducted successful operations against Al-Shabaab militants, resulting in the death of 29 militants in southeastern areas.
