Kuwait city: Kuwait's all-in-one government e-services app Sahel has processed 111 million digital transactions since its September 2021 launch and counts 2.9 million users, Sahel Spokesman Yousef Kazim said Monday. Speaking to KUNA, Kazim said the app makes services from many government entities accessible through one interface.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Kazim highlighted that this year alone, transactions exceeded 32 million, demonstrating strong public usage and the government's efforts to streamline services. Sahel now offers over 460 services, a significant increase from the 123 available at launch, making it the most used government app and reducing pressure on service centers.
Kazim also recalled the launch of last year's first fully digital "Newborn Journey" service, which offers users a complete online process for acquiring naming and birth certificates without requiring in-person visits, thus simplifying multiple procedures into just a few clicks.
Looking ahead, major upgrades are planned for the app, including improvements to the house, marriage, and report journeys. Kazim expressed gratitude towards the political leadership and Kuwait's Minister of State for Communication Affairs Omar Al-Omar for their support in the digital shift and commended ministries and agencies for their commitment to expanding services and updating procedures.
