Russian President Condemns Israeli Strikes on Iran

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the Israeli occupation's attacks on Iran, stating that the actions were a violation of the UN Charter and international law. In a statement released by the Kremlin, Putin expressed these views during phone calls with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasizing Russia's commitment to de-escalating tensions between Tehran and Israel.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Putin underscored the importance of returning to the negotiation table and expressed Russia's willingness to support efforts aimed at finding a peaceful resolution to issues surrounding Iran's nuclear program. He highlighted the need for diplomatic engagement and reiterated Russia's role in mediating the situation to avoid further escalation.

During the conversation, Iranian President Pezeshkian reiterated Iran's stance on nuclear weapons, affirming that the country does not seek to acquire them and is prepared to offer guarantees to international organizations to ensure transparency. Putin also reached out to Netanyahu, offering Russia's readiness to mediate and help prevent any further increase in tensions in the region.
