Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump's plan for peace in Gaza is the "best option" in terms of Arab acceptability and "non-rejection" by the Israeli occupation. Speaking in a press release, Lavrov emphasized that his country is closely monitoring the developments of Palestine's file amidst relevant regional and international movements. According to Kuwait News Agency, Lavrov also addressed the situation in Syria, stating that Moscow continues to support its Syrian partners. He expressed Russia's readiness to collaborate with other countries that have interests in Syria to enhance regional stability and prevent the deterioration of humanitarian conditions. Lavrov further commented on the ongoing movement of Kurds for autonomous rule in Syria, warning that if successful, it could ignite the Kurdish issue in other countries. He highlighted that such movements could pose significant risks to regional security and the territorial integrity of several cou ntries in the region. Additionally, Lavrov voiced his country's dissatisfaction with certain Western nations that are attempting to intensify sanctions against Iran, considering this approach to be at odds with international efforts aimed at resuming talks.
