Moscow: The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the French ambassador to Moscow to deliver an official protest note after a Russian diplomatic employee was detained by French customs authorities at a Paris airport. The ministry described the incident as a "serious diplomatic transgression."
According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry and published on its official website claimed the incident is part of a series of unacceptable practices against Russian diplomats. The detained employee was reportedly forced to remain in the airport's duty-free zone for an entire day before being allowed entry into France, which Russia argues is a clear violation of international norms.
In addition, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed in a press statement that the Russian embassy in Paris had also delivered a protest note to its French counterpart, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
