Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated his country's steadfast support for political and diplomatic efforts initiated by Arab nations to address ongoing crises in the Middle East.
According to Kuwait News Agency, President Putin's remarks were made ahead of the 34th Arab Summit set to take place in Baghdad, emphasizing the importance of resolving disputes in line with international law while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nations involved.
Putin highlighted the challenging circumstances under which the summit is being held, pointing to the severe escalation of conflicts in the Middle East. These conflicts have resulted in significant civilian casualties and have exacerbated regional social and economic challenges, further elevating tensions.
The Russian president acknowledged the increasing violence in the region and underscored the critical role of the Arab League as a platform for multilateral dialogue and cooperation. He reiterated Moscow's support for the Arab League's efforts to mediate and resolve these conflicts.
President Putin also extended an invitation to Arab leaders to attend the inaugural Russian-Arab summit, scheduled to take place in Moscow on October 15, marking a continued commitment to collaborative efforts in addressing Middle Eastern issues.
