Russia Firmly Opposes NATO Troop Deployment to Kiev, Says Medvedev

Moscow: Deputy Chair of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has firmly stated that Russia will never entertain the idea of deploying NATO forces to Ukraine as a peacekeeping force. Medvedev emphasized that such a move would be unacceptable to Russia and could pose a direct threat to its interests. According to Kuwait News Agency, Medvedev's remarks came in response to the Coalition of the Willing's statements expressing readiness to send a peacekeeping force to Ukraine following a comprehensive ceasefire agreement between Ukraine and Russia. Medvedev countered this notion by asserting that no NATO troops should serve in such a capacity. Additionally, Medvedev criticized French President Emmanuel Macron's comments labeling Russia as a destabilizing force threatening Europe's security. He also took a swipe at the recent meeting at the White House involving US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and top European leaders. Medvedev described the Coalition of the Willing's ef forts to influence the US President as unsuccessful, stating that Europe displayed subservience during the meeting.
