Russia and North Korea Strengthen Strategic Partnership During Beijing Meeting

Beijing: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday praised the bilateral relations between Russia and North Korea, emphasizing their strong foundation of strategic partnership and mutual understanding.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the remarks were made during a two-hour meeting between Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Beijing. The discussion was centered around enhancing bilateral relations across various fields. Putin acknowledged the contribution of North Korean soldiers who fought alongside Russian troops in the "liberation of the border region of Kursk."

During the talks, the leaders explored opportunities for expanding Moscow-Pyongyang cooperation. They expressed a joint willingness to enhance political, military, and economic collaboration. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un highlighted the rapid growth of relations between the two nations and expressed eagerness to further strengthen their partnership with Russia.

In a gesture of mutual interest in solidifying their ties, Kim Jong Un extended an invitation to President Putin to visit Pyongyang later this year.
