Road mishap kills 9, wounds 18 in Pakistan side Kashmir

At least nine people were killed while 18 others received injuries as a coaster fell into a ravine in Pakistan-administered Kashmir region, said officials on Monday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Riaz Mughal told media that the vehicle fell into a ravine near Jarai village, at the border of Kotli and Mirpur districts due to the negligence of the driver who was unfamiliar with the area.

The official said that the driver was not able to control the speeding vehicle and it fell into a ravine killing at least nine people and injuring 18 others.

The rescue personnel immediately reached the site of the accident.

The vehicle was carrying around 30 people where the deceased and the injured were shifted to the nearest government-run medical facility in Mirpur city.
