Riyadh Hosts 10th SAMC Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Media

Riyadh: The Saudi Association for Media and Communication (SAMC) opened its 10th international conference today in Riyadh, bringing together leading experts, academics, and specialists to discuss the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in media.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the two-day conference addresses the integration of AI in media, enhancing professionals' awareness of modern technologies, and improving performance standards, coinciding with the declaration of 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence.

Speakers emphasized the need for studied approaches to maximize AI's opportunities and address its challenges, noting that emerging technologies complement rather than replace existing ones, while cautioning against superficial information and the erosion of investigative journalism.

The conference program includes scientific sessions covering media ethics, academic responsibility, media investment, and AI applications, concluding with a session presenting key recommendations.
