Riyadh Deplores Israeli Knesset’s Bills on West Bank Sovereignty

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia strongly deplored on Wednesday the Israeli Knesset’s endorsement of two bills imposing the occupation’s sovereignty over the West Bank and legalizing settlements. In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry stressed full rejection of all expansion and settlement violations adopted by the Israeli occupation.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the statement emphasized the historic rights of Palestinians to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant international legitimacy resolutions. The Saudi Foreign Ministry called upon the international community to assume its full responsibility toward implementing these resolutions and ending the blatant Israeli violations of Palestinian land and people. It urged the support of the peace path based on the two-state solution to achieve security and stability in the region.

Earlier today, the Knesset’s public authority approved, in an initial reading, two bills on annexing the West Bank and imposing sovereignty over the Ma’ale Adumim settlement on Jerusalem.
