Beirut: Restoring Lebanon's sovereignty and trust is "key" to pushing forward a national recovery process, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated on Tuesday, highlighting economic reforms as another necessity. "It is time to rebuild the state, this is a core mission of my government," the prime minister declared at a press conference focused on rebuilding Beirut. He emphasized measures such as restoring sovereignty, securing borders, and stabilizing the country as key objectives moving forward.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Lebanese prime minister identified progress on depositors' rights, judicial independence, and upcoming legislation for Artificial Intelligence governance as current plans being developed by his government. The state-run NNA news agency also cited him discussing these critical areas during the press event.
Addressing the conference, Mohammad Abdulwahab, chief of the Lebanese Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, called for increased foreign investment in Beirut, noting the country's ongoing crisis. He emphasized that the conference served as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas on steps needed to accelerate Beirut's reconstruction process.
