Al-jahra: The director of the Red Palace Project, Rawan Al-Dhafiri, affirmed on Thursday that the Red Palace project in the Al-Jahra area contributes to consolidating and preserving Kuwaiti history, cultural heritage, and civilization. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Dhafiri stated that Kuwait Municipality has begun formulating a vision for the Red Palace project, in line with directives from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to bring the ambiance of Al-Mubarkiya Market to Al-Jahra Governorate. The municipality has developed the idea into an integrated park and heritage market, covering a land area of 470,000 square meters adjacent to the Red Palace. The project will also see the development of agricultural land near the palace, allocated through a municipal council decision. It will be divided into northern and southern sections, separated by a street. The northern part will feature a recreational park with a farmers' market to preserve crops and plants, reflecting the mun icipality's commitment to environmental preservation. Additionally, cultural elements aimed at enhancing the area's cultural and historical awareness will be included. These features will consist of a poetry library, an outdoor theater, workshops, kiosks for small and medium businesses, and dedicated spaces for children. The southern section of the project will host a traditional market reminiscent of Al-Mubarakiya Market, with specialized markets like those for gold, dates, and clothing. This section will also include a large stage for celebrations. The Red Palace project will be developed in partnership with the private sector through an auction system. Registration for the auction will begin on November 26 and run until December 26, with results announced between January 5 and January 19, 2025.
