Rapid Support announces its control over the presidency of the Central Reserve, south of Khartoum

The Rapid Support Forces announced today, Sunday, their control of the leadership of the Central Reserve Forces of the Sudanese police forces, as the site is a strategic military point south of the capital, Khartoum.

For the second day in a row, the Presidency of the Central Reserve Forces Command witnessed violent clashes and fierce fighting, between the Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, through an attack carried out by the latter from 3 axes.

Earlier, the Sudanese army said in a statement that the Rapid Support Forces attacked the central reserve forces of the Sudanese police at its headquarters south of Khartoum, stressing that the attack was repelled, and the support forces incurred great losses in lives, and destroyed a number of combat vehicles.

Fighting has been taking place between the army and the support forces for more than two months, causing destruction in the capital and leading to widespread violence in the Darfur region in western Sudan, and to the flight of more than 2.5 million from their homes.
