Lahore: At least nine people lost their lives while over 60 others received injuries in rain-related incidents in different areas of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province during the last 24 hours, said rescue authorities on Wednesday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has predicted more rains and strong winds in most parts of the province. This forecast raises concerns for the safety of residents as the region continues to experience severe weather conditions.
Earlier last month, at least 37 people lost their lives while over 50 others received injuries in multiple rain-related incidents across Pakistan after heavy rainfall. The recurrent incidents highlight the urgent need for effective disaster management and preparedness strategies to mitigate the impact of such natural events.
