Rafah remains the only operational crossing for Gaza, serving as a critical link for humanitarian aid from the Arab World due to the blockade of other crossings by Israeli authorities.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Egyptian truck driver Saber Yousef voiced his sorrow over the persistent blockade and its impact on humanitarian efforts. He detailed the inspection process involving multiple stages, including driver removal, cargo searches, and X-ray scanning, which slows down the operation significantly. Each truck inspection extends over 30 minutes, allowing only 40 to 50 trucks to pass through daily.
Yousef further noted the challenges posed by Israeli restrictions on cargo dimensions, which compel some trucks to turn back. This restriction contributes to further delays in the delivery of essential supplies to Gaza, underscoring the difficulties faced in providing timely humanitarian assistance.
