Doha: Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad has expressed his country's solidarity with Somalia and its rejection of all forms of terror and violence that threaten the safety and stability of the Somali people. This was highlighted during a telephone conversation between the Amir and Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, where Sheikh Tamim inquired about the President's well-being following an attack on his convoy which resulted in casualties and injuries.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Qatar Amiri Diwan released a statement confirming the details of this conversation. During the call, the Amir conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and extended his wishes for a swift recovery to those injured in the attack.
In response, President Mohamud expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Amir for his supportive sentiments towards Somalia, its government, and its citizens.
