Qatari Cabinet Praises Outcomes of Doha’s Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit

Doha: The Qatari Cabinet lauded on Wednesday the results and the historic stances which stemmed from the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha on Monday. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Cabinet commended the important remarks made by Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening of the summit held to address the grave consequences of the treacherous Israeli occupation's strike on Doha. The attack not only highlighted the heinous nature of the Israeli occupation but also reinforced its genocidal attitude toward the people of the Gaza Strip, Palestine, and the broader Arab world with the targeting of Doha. The summit resulted in sending a clear and direct message to the state of terror, the Israeli occupation, and reflected the solidarity of participating leaders through the final statement with the State of Qatar. The Cabinet deemed the aggression a clear violation against Arab and Islamic nations and a violation against a UN member state, Qatar. It indicated that the attack has grave consequences on regional and international stability. The Qatari Cabinet also praised the wise and civil response to the attack, reflecting a firm stance on respecting international laws and norms. The Cabinet took the opportunity to commend the outcome of the extraordinary session of the GCC Supreme Council held on Monday and chaired by Sheikh Tamim, noting that the final statement expressed the GCC's condemnation of the Israeli occupation aggression and its violation of international law and the UN Charter. The GCC affirmed its unwavering support for Qatar against any aggression, emphasizing that the security and stability of Qatar are integral to all Gulf countries. The Cabinet also welcomed the UNSC resolution last Thursday condemning the attack on the headquarters of the Hamas negotiating team in Doha, reiterating Qatar's commitment to mediation efforts in the region. Furthermore, the Cabinet expressed Qatar's support for the New York Declaration regarding the two-state solution efforts in the Middle East and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. It praised the Saudi-French efforts that led to the holding of an international conference in New York and the important declaration calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
