Doha: Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad held discussions on Monday with a delegation from the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, focusing on the latest developments in the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting took place at the Lusail Palace in Doha, where the Amir received the delegation headed by Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya. The discussions underscored Qatar's consistent stance on the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital and addressing the ongoing ceasefire negotiations.
Additionally, the Amir met with US President-elect Donald Trump's Middle East Envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Brett McGurk, the National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, to further discuss regional issues.
