Qatar to Host Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit on Monday

Doha: Qatar on Saturday confirmed it would host the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit on Monday. The summit is set against the backdrop of recent developments in the region.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the official Qatar News Agency quoted Dr. Majid Al-Ansari, the prime minister's adviser and official spokesperson of the foreign ministry, stating that the summit participants would discuss a draft resolution concerning the recent Israeli attack on Qatar. A preparatory ministerial meeting is scheduled to be held on Sunday.

The summit reflects the solidarity of Arab and Muslim nations in response to the Israeli aggression that targeted residential facilities for leaders of the Hamas movement. Dr. Al-Ansari emphasized these nations' strong rejection of state terrorism practiced by Israel. Last Tuesday, the Israeli occupation conducted an air strike on the residences of Hamas leaders in Doha.
