Qassim’s Iconic Klija Cookie Boosts Tourism and Local Economy

Buraidah: Klija, date-molasses-filled cookies, is one of Qassim Region's most iconic heritage products due to its cultural and culinary legacy, and contributes to the social and economic identity of the local community.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Klija is traditionally served during social occasions and holidays and flavored with traditional spices such as cardamom and cinnamon, and baked using time-honored methods.

The 17th edition of the Klija Festival in Buraidah, Qassim Region, provides a platform to showcase the history of this beloved product, celebrate Qassim's cultural diversity, and promote Saudi cuisine as a key element of the Kingdom's cultural tourism landscape.
