Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday lowered the curtains on meetings of the Brics summit pledging anew TO pursue the quest for a multipolar globe. Putin, speaking at a news conference marking conclusion of the summit, said he and his peers of the Brics member states discussed a host of issues namely the Middle East, establishing a new world order "based on justice and the UN norms." The Russian leader indicated that these countries would seek to boost financial cooperation, noting that the talks addressed prospected expansion of the Brics group, revealing that there would be efforts to execute joint ventures in industries and infrastructures. He declared that Brazil would head the group next year. The Brics was established in 2006 and had comprised first Russia, India, China, Brazil and South Africa.
