Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized on Thursday that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is the only method for ending the decades-long conflict in the Middle East. Speaking during the Valdai International Club, Putin described the situation in Gaza as a significant incident in modern human history, emphasizing the necessity of reaching an inclusive political solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Putin was quoted by Russia's news agency (RIA Novosti) as stating that peace efforts could be fruitful if they lead to the creation of an independent Palestinian state. He expressed Russia's readiness to support US President Donald Trump's plan for Gaza, highlighting the preference for handing control of Gaza over to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Putin praised Trump's plan regarding the release of all hostages and prisoners from both sides, considering it a crucial step toward a fair and comprehensive settlement.
