President Abbas Seeks Comprehensive Ceasefire Amid Israeli Aggression

Ramallah: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced on Sunday his efforts to secure a comprehensive ceasefire and an end to Israeli aggression in the West Bank and Jerusalem. He emphasized the importance of executing a political two-state solution.

According to Kuwait News Agency, President Abbas made these remarks during a meeting with Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides in Ramallah. The discussions between the two leaders focused on recent developments in the Palestinian territories, including the release of hostages, achieving a ceasefire, and facilitating the entry of humanitarian and medical aid into Gaza.

President Abbas stated, "We are working with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the US administration, and relevant Arab and European countries on a clear formula for moving toward implementing the two-state solution based on international legitimacy." He also mentioned that preparations are underway for an international peace conference scheduled for next June in New York.

Furthermore, Abbas expressed appreciation for Cyprus's support of Palestinian rights and thanked the country for its humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. He also acknowledged Cyprus's positive stance within the European Union framework.
