Washington: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency following episodes of mild swelling in his lower legs in recent weeks.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the President, who is 79, is in stable condition. As a precautionary measure, he underwent a comprehensive examination that included diagnostic vascular studies and an echocardiogram conducted by the White House Medical Unit. Leavitt shared this information with reporters on Thursday.
The results from all laboratory tests were reported to be within normal limits. Leavitt noted that chronic venous insufficiency is a common condition, especially among individuals over the age of 70, referencing a statement from Trump's physician, Sean Barbabella.
Leavitt confirmed that there were no indications of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), arterial disease, heart failure, renal impairment, or any systemic illness in the President's health assessment.
