GENEVA: Vice-President of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, Marwan Jilani, has lauded Kuwait's persistent humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating the distress of the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing Israeli occupation. Jilani made these remarks in a statement to KUNA following the conclusion of the International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Geneva. According to Kuwait News Agency, the conference, which ended on Thursday, attracted over 2,200 representatives globally. Jilani emphasized that Kuwait's humanitarian endeavors underscore the profound Kuwaiti-Palestinian relations. He also cautioned against the Israeli occupation's restriction on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), highlighting that the impacts of such actions could affect Lebanon and Syria. Samar Abu Joudeh, responsible for partnerships within the Lebanese Red Cross, also communicated to KUNA that the association's joint appeal, in collaboration with the International Federation and the International Committee of the Red Cross, aims to ensure the safety of humanitarian workers. The international conference wrapped up after four days of intensive dialogue among representatives from 196 countries and delegates from 191 national societies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
