PM Chairs Ministerial Committee Meeting on Major Development Projects

Kuwait city: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, chaired the 40th meeting of the ministerial committee at Bayan Palace, tasked with overseeing the implementation of Kuwait's major development projects.

According to Kuwait News Agency, His Highness praised the strategic project execution's attention and follow-up by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He acknowledged the governmental support and guidance, along with the committee's efforts in advancing national development priorities. The Prime Minister highlighted the committee's role in the recent signing of the engineering, procurement, and construction contract for Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, marking a significant milestone in Kuwait's development initiatives.

He emphasized the necessity of coordination among committee members and state entities to meet strategic goals, noting the collective efforts leading to significant achievements and transformations that enhance economic competitiveness and fulfill citizens' aspirations. Committee members expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister's support and involvement, recognizing the unified government programs' alignment with sustainable development goals.

Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and committee rapporteur Ambassador Samih Jawhar Hayat reported on the progress of projects including Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, energy systems cooperation, renewable energy, waste recycling, housing, and environmental infrastructure. Discussions also addressed wastewater treatment, environmental protection, and combating desertification, highlighting the continued efforts to improve governmental performance across development sectors.

The meeting included prominent attendees such as Head of the Prime Minister's Diwan Abdulaziz Al-Dakheel, Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Meshaan, and other key officials, reflecting a broad commitment to Kuwait's development framework.
