Washington: The US Department of Defense (DoD) announced it would resume the American weapon shipment to Ukraine, just days after a temporary halt over fears that US stockpiles were running too low. In a statement issued late Monday, the Pentagon said, "At President Trump's direction, the Department of Defense is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine to ensure the Ukrainians can defend themselves while we work to secure a lasting peace and ensure the killing stops."
According to Kuwait News Agency, the statement further stated that the "current framework for POTUS to evaluate military shipments across the globe remains in effect and is integral to our America First defense priorities." The Pentagon had clarified on July 2nd, that the pause in shipments was due to an internal assessment of available weapons, while reaffirming that the US military remains fully capable of carrying out its duties.
