Gaza city: The Palestinian civil defense authorities in Gaza Strip have initiated an operation to recover 100 bodies of individuals believed to be buried alive during the conflict initiated by the Israeli occupation forces on the Strip.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the search operation is facing significant challenges due to a shortage of necessary machinery, as stated by Mahmoud Basal, the spokesman of the civil defense. Basal addressed reporters on Monday, revealing that the teams are resorting to primitive tools while searching through the wreckage of a building in Gaza City.
Basal emphasized the need for at least 40 heavy machines to conduct the operation effectively, urging the sponsors of the Gaza ceasefire deal to assist in providing the essential equipment. The urgency is heightened by the fact that over 9,500 individuals have remained unaccounted for since the war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, escalating the Palestinian death toll to 70,373, with an additional 17,179 injuries, as reported by local health authorities.
