Palestinian Foreign Ministry Condemns Israeli Knesset Bill to Annex Territories

Ramallah: The Palestinian foreign ministry on Wednesday condemned the Israeli Knesset’s move to annex Palestinian territories. The ministry stated that this action, described as imposing Israeli sovereignty, is rejected and condemned. It affirmed that the occupied Palestinian territories are a single geographic entity where sovereignty belongs solely to the Palestinian people and their leadership, represented by the Palestine Liberation Organization, based on their historic legal rights.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry emphasized the importance of the New York declaration and its affiliates, which were unanimously endorsed at the United Nations, as a foundation for countering Israeli annexation and colonialism policies. The ministry warned against attempts by the Israeli occupation authority to create so-called facts on the ground, declaring these efforts as invalid and non-recognized.

The ministry referred to Israel as an illegitimate occupation power, citing international laws and the International Court of Justice’s edict released earlier in the day. It urged concerned states and international institutions to reject the Israeli decision and take necessary measures to prevent occupation schemes.

Furthermore, the ministry called for the establishment of an international front to oppose these policies, which it labeled as enforcing an “Apartheid regime.”
