Palestine condemns Israeli cabinet meeting in tunnel under Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Palestinian presidency has deplored the Israeli cabinet meeting in a colonial tunnel dug by the occupation under the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied Jerusalem City.

In a statement issued Sunday, Palestinian Presidency spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that the identity of Arab Jerusalem, with its Islamic and Christian sanctities, will not be altered by Netanyahu’s remarks, nor by the reality existing by the occupation.

In addition, the Israeli occupation will not change history and will not create a future, he said, adding that Netanyahu’s government is existing only by force.

He indicated that Netanyahu’s attack on President Mahmoud Abbas’s speech during the Nakba celebration at the United Nations shows that the President had exposed the lies and falsity of the occupation’s account before the whole world that the Israelis have no relation with Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque, including the Western Wall, which belong to Muslims only.

Abu Rudeineh called on the international community, topped with the US, to compel the Israeli government to halt unilateral actions, mainly provocative acts against both Muslims and Christians, and repeated violations of Muslim and Christian sanctities.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli cabinet held its weekly meeting at the tunnel a few hours after Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque.
