Pakistani Forces Eliminate 4 Militants at Pak-Afghan Border

Bajaur: At least four militants, who were trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, were killed by Pakistani forces in a tribal district of Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, said the military on Thursday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a press release by Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the movement of a group of militants, attempting to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was detected by the security forces in Bajaur tribal district of KPK.

Pakistani troops effectively engaged and thwarted the militants' attempt to infiltrate, and as a result of precise and skillful engagement, four militants were killed, ISPR confirmed.

Earlier in the month, Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to an immediate ceasefire during peace talks in Qatar after violent clashes between forces of the neighboring countries inflicted casualties on both sides.

The operation in KPK coincides with the killing of 18 militants in two separate operations in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province. The security operations come at a time when Pakistan is witnessing a rise in militant attacks, especially in KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan.
