Pakistani and Egyptian Officials Discuss Strengthening Defense and Security Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistani and Egyptian officials held discussions on bilateral relations, focusing on defense and security cooperation, during a meeting between Egyptian Foreign Minister Bader Abdulaty and Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in Rawalpindi.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the discussions reviewed bilateral relations with a specific emphasis on defense and security cooperation, military-to-military contacts, training collaborations, and regional peace and stability. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthen coordination and deepen ties in defense and strategic domains.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister expressed Egypt's ongoing interest in expanding cooperation with Pakistan in various areas. Both countries highlighted the importance of sustained high-level exchanges to address emerging challenges, especially considering evolving regional security dynamics.

Foreign Minister Abdulaty arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit at the invitation of Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan. During his visit, Abdulaty also met with President Asif Ali Zardari and the Deputy Prime Minister to discuss regional and international issues.
