Pakistan Thanks International Partners for Ceasefire Mediation

Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, expressed his gratitude towards international partners for their support in de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

According to Kuwait News Agency, following the announcement of a ceasefire by both nations after a period of heightened escalation, Prime Minister Sharif addressed the nation. He emphasized that Pakistan responded positively to ceasefire proposals "for the sake of 230 million Pakistanis." He specifically commended the United States for its role in brokering the ceasefire, extending personal thanks to President Donald Trump for his "sincere and constructive role."

In his televised address, PM Sharif also acknowledged the contributions of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkiye, the United Kingdom, the United Nations Secretary-General, and other allied countries involved in the diplomatic effort. He expressed deep gratitude to the people of Pakistan, the armed forces, political leaders, and international partners who supported efforts to de-escalate tensions.

Moreover, Sharif highlighted the leadership of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and China for providing "strength and confidence in a difficult hour." He paid tribute to the armed forces and honored the mothers of martyred soldiers, ensuring that "their sacrifices will never be forgotten." Looking towards the future, the Prime Minister voiced confidence in the national resolve, stating, "I am sure our political parties and civil-military leadership will continue working for the sake of Pakistan. We will not rest until we have regained our rightful place in the world."

To commemorate the successful response to Indian aggression, PM Sharif announced a "Day of Gratitude" on Sunday.
